LOS ANGELES, CA—July 10, 2013—Branding and design firm Fahrenheit Studio was recognized with a Horizon Interactive Gold Medal Award for their design of the Zansaar shopping website.
Zansaar.com, one of India’s leading home furnishing sites, is in the same online category as Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel or Cost Plus World Market in the U.S.
The international competition saw over 1,000 entries from 25 countries worldwide. It was the second year in a row Fahrenheit was recognized by them for interactive design excellence.
“As the Indian economy has expanded, so has the population’s appetite for online shopping venues. Zansaar needed a strong brand strategy and vivid website to take advantage of this growing demand,” said Fahrenheit Principal Robert Weitz. “While Indian software development knowledge is frequently tapped by U.S. companies, Zanzaar’s founders believed only a U.S. company could provide the in-depth branding knowledge they needed to launch the website. We’re proud to be recognized for the work.”
Fahrenheit Studio built the Zansaar brand and site from the ground up, designing the shopping experience to be modern and distinctively Indian. The result is a vivid and engaging ecommerce site that is visually rich with color and texture yet maintains a clean, contemporary look and functionality.
‘Zansaar’ is a play on the Hindi word ‘sansaar,’ meaning ‘the world’ and Zansaar.com lives up to its name. The site design creates a high-end, high-energy brand image while showcasing home goods from India, South Asia and around the globe. Easy-to-use search and sort interfaces allow shoppers to order items including kitchen basics, holiday linens and hard-to-find foodstuffs.
In its 11th year, the Horizon Interactive Awards was created to recognize excellence in interactive media production worldwide. Each year, entries are narrowed down to the “best of the best” to be recognized and promoted on and international stage. The judging process involves a Horizon Interactive Awards advisory panel, an end user panel and a worldwide panel of judges consisting of industry professionals.
